    Our Annual Christopher Columbus Celebration will take place on Monday, October 10th at 1:00pm. Columbus’s explorations brought news of an uncharted continent to Europe and changed the world. The main speaker is Peter Sparano, member and Past President of the Schenectady Sons of Italy, Lodge 321. A social follows the presentation.

    October Monthly Meeting & Cultural Presentation, Thursday, October 20th at 7:00pm. Christina Pizzino Catalano’s music students will perform. This is a great opportunity to hear young talent and support them. Please bring dessert for the social that will follow. The concert is free and open to the public. Italian Heritage Month Program:

    Wednesday, October 26th at 1:00pm. Celebrate this important month and learn more about Italian American heritage and culture. A social follows the program. Come early to visit the Italian Heritage Month Exhibit “Saluting Italian & Italian American Nobel Prize Laureates.”

    Pizza & Movie Night – Friday, October 28th at 6:30pm. The movie is “Seduced and Abandoned” (a comedy made in l964). Pizza and refreshments, $5. Chair: Phil Maiello. Please make your reservation by October 25th.

    You are invited to our Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Thursday, November 10th at 1:00pm to honor veterans. This is a great opportunity to visit our Military Room. A social will follow the program. Free admission to our Museum for Veterans on Veterans Day.

    Our Annual St. Frances X Cabrini Celebration will take place on Tuesday, November 15th at 1:00pm. Mother Cabrini is the Patron of Immigrants and the first citizen of the United States to be canonized a Saint. She established 67 churches, orphanages, schools and hospitals; dedicating her life to the poor, and especially helping Italian immigrants. Please come to remember and honor this amazing humanitarian.

     The November Monthly Meeting and Cultural Presentation will take place on Thursday, November 17th at 7:00pm. In honor of Native American Month, Marjorie Ann Dancing Wind Handcock, the Founder and Chairwoman of the Tribes Hill Heritage Center, will be the speaker. Marjorie is of Native American heritage. Please bring dessert for the social to follow.

     We will be open on Sundays in October from 1:00-3:30pm for Italian Heritage Month. This will give you the opportunity to visit on a Sunday, as we are no longer able to be open every Sunday throughout the year.

    November Pizza & Movie Night is on Friday, November 18th at 6:30pm. The movie is “Woman of Rome” with Gina Lollobrigida. Pizza and refreshments, $5. Sign up by Wednesday, November 16th. Chair: Phil Maiello.
