Prof./Cav. Philip J. DiNovo - President/Director
-AAS, BS, MBA Degrees

Professor DiNovo taught at Morrrisville College (SUNY) for 32 years and was the founder of the Business Administration Department. The students choose him twice at Professor of the Year. The Professor founded the American Italian Heritage Association in 1979 and the American Italian Heritage Museum in 1985. He has served as President since 1979 and the Executive Director of our museum since 1985. He was knighted by the Italian government for his many years of outstanding service to Italy and the Italian American community.

Olivia is a 4th generation Italian, and in 2018 obtained her Italian citizenship. She studied Italian at Tufts University, where she completed an immersive semester at L'universita' di Bologna. She currently lives and works in Troy, where she and her dog can often be found running.

 (Treasurer)Santa Pasquini
Santa is retired from the Albany lobbying Office of the Mayor of the City of New York where she was an Administrative Secretary to the Director of their Albany Legislative Office for 27 years. Three years after retirement, she worked part-time as an Executive Assistant for a private lobby firm, the Vandervort Group, for a decade during the legislative session. She is a past-President of the Italian American Community Center and has been very active in Italian-American affairs for over 40 years, having served as a chair or co-chair of numerous fundraising events for various Italian-American events & causes. Santa has continually worked on many committees, was a member of the American Italian Heritage Association (AIHA) Building & Planning from its inception, has served for many years Secretary, and holds the position of Treasurer of the American Italian Heritage Association & Museum.
Board Members

Joseph Anastasio- Joseph is an Italian-American artist of Sicilian descent. He has a Masters in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. Joe has exhibited his works in Europe at the New York State University at Albany and the Italian American Community Centers of Albany and Troy, New York. Many of his works are now in private and public collections in the United Stated and Europe. A selection of his ceramic paintings is currently on semi-permanent exhibit at the American Italian Heritage Museum.

Catherine McGuire- Cathy has been an active member of the American Italian Heritage Museum and Association for five years. For the past four years, she has chaired the Fundraising Committee, which has successfully raised thousands of dollars. Cathy holds a Business degree from the College of Saint Rose. She was employed by General Electric Comany for 13 years before owning her Memorial business for the past 22 years.

Dominic A. Paratore
Currently entering his eleventh year as keyboard player for the music country pop group, Skeeter Creek. Served as a board member since the opening of the museum at its current location in Albany NY. Designed and maintains the museum web site, along with the e-news emails sent to the associations members. Retired from 35 years of service at Albany County working in the Social Services field for 17 years and his remaining years of services in Information Technology.

Thomas Barletta, Esq
Tom is a first generation Italian-American and a lifelong resident of the Capital District. He is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Boston College and the Albany Law School. Tom also completed a year of study at the University of Florence, Italy where he concentrated on Italian language, history and culture. Professionally, Tom has served a Counsel to the Assembly Majority Leader, Director of Governmental Relations to the New York State Bar Association and is currently the Legislative Counsel to the New York State Department of Financial Services. He is also Past-President of the Roma Intangible Lodge #215 of the Sons of Italy in America.

Phil Maiello- Phillip, before retirement, was a Tax Processing Specialist for 25 uears at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. He is on the Grounds Committee, chair of the Columbus celebrations, and has volunteered at various events by the Association. He has served on the Board, took the summer off and painted the outside of the museum, and with others and has made a number of improvements on the building. He has served on the Board for two years.

Rosanna Aiuppa- Rosanna has been a Real Estate Broker and an entreprenuer in the Albany area for over 40 years. Rosanna has been active in numerous Italian American organizations in the Albany area and has served as past President, Treasurer, and on the Board of Trustees for the Italian American Community Center as well as on the Board of Directorsof the American Italian Heritage Association. She chaired the Association's Building and Planning Committee during the first phase of the renovations to the 1227 Cenntral Avenue building complex.

Anthony Viccarone - Anthony has been a resident of Mechanicville since 1958. Anthony is originally from Italy and arrived in the United States with his mother and father. He is married to Sylvia and has two children, Stephan and Erika. He was employed by General Electric Turbine Division for 28 years and Lockhead Martin Knolls Atomic Power Lab for 12 years as a Mechanical and Electronic Designer before his retirement. Since retiring, he has more free time to work with the Mechanicville Community Center and has given him the opportunity to give back to the community. He is a member of the American Italian Heritage Association and Museum. He has taught Italian classes for the past two years. He has participated in fundraisers, and with his wife Sylvia is now heading the Festival Italiano Fundraiser.

Stephen Woodard - Steve graduated from SUNY at Albany. He worked for 15 years as an administrator in the State Department of Transportation. At 42, he left state service to pursue his lifelong dream as a pilot. After various private sector aviation positions, he was fortunate enough to return to State service and fly helicopters for Environmental Conservation and the New York State Police departments. He retired from flying helicopters after 20 years. Along with aviation, he has always had a strong interest in woodworking and home repair projects. These skills are what have drawn him to the American Italian Heritage Museum as a regular volunteer. Steve serves as Museum voluneer and is on the grounds and maintenance committee. Steve has continued to visit Italy and studies continually on improving his proficiency in the Italian language.
Ralph DeMartino- Received his BA in History Education and MS in Education from the University at Albany. He has taught high school social studies, been Dean, and assistant principle. Principal of Maple High School in Castleton for 20 years. In 2002, Ralph was recognized by the Greater Capital Region Principals' Center as High School Principal of the Year and by WTEN TV in 2003 as Educator of Excellence. Ralph is an active member who volunteers at the American Italian Heritage Museum and Thrift Shop. He is ready to help whenever asked and is also on our security team.

Brandon F. Goodrich
Grew up in Columbia County, his maternal grandparents hail from Calabria. Brandon received his degree in Government and Psychology from Georgetown University and earned a JD from Loyola University. Brandon lives in Albany's Hudson/Park neighborhood.

New Candidate -Joseph LaCivita, is currently the General Manager for the City of Watervliet for over two years, overseeing day-to-day operations. Attended both SUNY Cobleskill and Empire State College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, He is currently finishing up his Master's in Public Administration at Marist College. Originally from the City of Watervliet, NY, he has over thirty years of state and local governmental experience as well as 12 years in the private sector as a Assistant Comtproller. Joe is very involved in his local community. Is married to Diane Conroy-LaCivita for 33 years and have 3 children Frances, Catherine and Louis
