Calendar of Events

 

Italian American Heritage Day at the Saratoga Race Course will take place on Wednesday, August 8th. We will have a food, cultural, children, and a gift booth. We are also in charge of the entertainment for the day, which will be all Italian themed. Nancy Macy is our Chair for this event. Please contact us for details.

Our August Monthly Meeting & Cultural Presentation will take place on Thursday, August 16th at 7:00pm. The Presenter is Rosanna Aiuppa and her topic is “Italy Today.” Rosanna visits Italy often and knows Italy better than most. She will give you an interesting update and some important tips when visiting Italy. Please bring dessert for the social following the program. Open to the public.

The last Italian Meal on the Lawn for this year will take place on Friday, August 24th. Delicious Italian food and Italian entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00pm. This very popular event is a fundraiser. Free admission to the Museum during the event. Donations appreciated.

Beginner 102 Italian Class will be offered for seven Monday’s. The first class will start on Monday, September 10th at 7:00pm. Prerequisite is Italian 101. The goal of Italian 102 is to speak the language smoothly with the correct use of phraseology and idiomatic expression. The textbook is “Italian Demystified 3rd edition. The cost of the 7-week class is $55 for non-members and $50 for members. The Instructor is Anthony Viccarone. Your check is your reservation.

End-of-Summer Candlelight Dinner on the Lawn. On Friday, September 21st from 5:30-8:30pm, please join a group of friends of the Museum as they host an End-of-Summer Candlelight Dinner on the Lawn of the American Italian Heritage Museum to support the Organization. The catered event will feature a full-menu of Italian cuisine, Italian wine & beer, along with table-side musical entertainment all under the stars. This is an event not to be missed. Limited seating. Reservations only. Rain or shine. Tickets are __ for members and ___ for non-members. To make a reservation, please call ______. Payment will be due prior to the event. Event chairs are Diane Conroy-LaCivita and Joseph LaCivita.

Pizza & Movie Night will take place on Friday, September 28th at 6:30pm. The movie is “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. It is a romantic comedy film. It was nominated for the Academy for Best Picture and the story takes place in Rome, Italy. The cost for pizza and refreshments is $5. Please make your reservation by September 25th. Phil Maiello is Chair.

Our September Business Meeting and Cultural Presentation will take place on Thursday, September 13tht at 7:00pm. The presenter, Giacomo Calabria, a Scholar with Humanities New York and the Author of two new novels. The topic “Ulysses Oration”, one of the most cherished passages n Dante’s Commedia, offering in Primo Levi’s Survival in Auschwitz and enjoying a reputation comparable to summer blockbusters. Join us for a discussion on this mini-epic from Inferno, which will be read in English, alongside illustrations to best capture the book and feel of Ulysses’ last voyage. Please bring dessert for the social following the program. Open to the public.

Spring Museum hours (April/May) Mon., Thur. & Fri. from 11 am to 2 pm. Sat. & Sun. from 12 noon to 3 pm

June Museum hours Monday, Thursday & Friday 11:-2:00  Saturday & Sunday 12:00noon to 3:00

July & August Museum hours Monday, Thursday & Friday 11:-2:00  Saturday  12:00noon to 3:00

September 1st to December 31st. our hours are: Mon. Thur. and Friday 11 am to 2 pm . Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 3 pm.

January 1st to March 31st
the museum will only be open on Friday 11am-2pm. & Saturday. from 12 noon to 3 pm and by appointment.

The museum will be closed on Sunday during July and August.



Open by advance appointment outside of regular hours.
