by Gene Loparco
The president of the United States and
the governor of New York State declare each year in October
as "Italian Heritage and Culture Month. The Italian
government declared "2013 Italian Culture in America." The
American Italian Heritage Museum has carried those themes in
an exhibit "Italy's Influence in the Capital Region" in the
Special Exhibit Room during October and November.
A large number of different types of architecture throughout
th e capital region originated in Italy. Gene Loparco's
photos of many buildings in Albany, Troy, Schenectady and
Saratoga Springs are part of the exhibit and are on display.
The museum is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 am to
2 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.
