BEGINNER ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSE

OFFERED AT THE ITALIAN HERITAGE MUSEUM AND CULTURAL CENTER 1227 CENTRAL AVENUE ALBANY N.Y. PHONE: 518-435-1979

This course is composed of three. (3) separate parts.

Beginner Italian 101 (no prerequisite necessary. Items covered (Italian pronunciation and spelling, meeting and greeting people, asking questions, describing people and things, expressing likes and dislikes).

Italian 102 (prerequisite Italian 101). Items covered (learning thepresent indicative —are verbs, prepositions and the present indicative —ere verbs, demonstratives and present indicative —ire verbs, present progressive and possessives, giving commands.

Italian 103 (prerequisite Italian 102). Items covered (using reflective verbs, using the present perfect verbs, using the imperfect tense, using the past absolute tenses, more about nouns and adjectives.

Each part will be for seven (7) weeks from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm running weekly. Italian 101 will start on the second Monday (9) of April 2018. Italian 102 will start on the second Monday (8) of September 2018. Italian 103 will start the second Monday (8) of April 2019.

Our goal will be to speak the language smoothly with the correct use of phraseology and idiomatic expressions.

The grammar textbook suggested is "ITALIAN DEMYSTIFIED" 3rd edition, by Marcel Danesi, which may be obtained on line at amazon.com
